Hi Reader,

There's usually one thing people are waiting for during a launch: the sales number to come in, to confirm it actually worked.

And while they wait for it, the checking starts.

Refresh the dashboard, check the open rate, read into every tiny thing that could be a "sign" either way....

I did this for YEARS, checking sales notifications every 20 minutes during a live launch, ready to pull the whole strategy if the early numbers didn't look right (I know… I know 😅). It's exhausting, and honestly? It makes you a worse decision-maker right when you need to be a better one 🥲

In my experience, the result eeeeeveryone waits for is almost always the LAST thing to change.

What tends to move first is how people are engaging with the page before they buy: where they're scrolling to, where they're stopping, what they're asking in the DMs!

Those are the real early signs that it's working! So when I want to know whether it's working before we hit the final sale day (because last minute stragglers ALWAYS come through), I'm not looking at total revenue (although yes, that is a fun part too). I'm looking at 3 other things, you can watch for them yourself:

The behavior on the page itself

Someone lands on your sales page and scrolls all the way to the bottom, then scrolls back up to the pricing section, and then clicks away without buying… yet!

That's a visitor (potential buyer) weighing it up, and the page did it's job to keep them long enough to do that. Go you!!

For comparison, a page that isn't working loses people in the first third. Scroll depth and repeat visits to the pricing section are some of the earliest signs I watch for, because they tell me the copy and the structure are doing their job (pulling the right person through) even before anyone has handed over a card.

The questions that start coming in

When someone isn't ready, they ghost. When they're getting ready, they ask things questions like "does this include X?" or "is there a payment plan?"

Specific, logistical, or just curiosity-filled questions that only matter if they're already picturing themselves inside the offer! Hello?! THEY ALREADY SEE THEMSELVES BUYING!!

During a launch my client ran after a full brand and strategy rebuild, those exact type of DMs she noticed started showing up on day two (day TWO). The retreat sold out in under two weeks (we had a whole 4 week plan, so YAY!). The questions came before the conversions did, and they were the tell.

What you notice without trying to

This one's a bit harder to describe but it's like this: At some point mid-launch you stop bracing, not because the nerves magically went away (HA!! I wish...), but because you've started "observing" rather than reacting.

You notice a pattern across the comments/questions, or you catch yourself referencing something a potential buyer said. You change how you're paying attention, from white-knuckling the desk to just observing, and THAT is a sign the strategy behind it all has given you something solid enough that YOU trust the process.

Panic and strategy can't live in the same brain at the same time. When the strategy is working, it eventually wins! 💜

If you're mid-launch right now and the number hasn't moved yet: document what you're seeing! Write down the scroll behavior if you have it, screenshot the DMs, note what questions are coming in. You're basically building a picture of how your audience buys, and THAT is worth more than the final number on its own (but we will still celebrate the money wins!! Money is tool to help you do more amazing things, help more great humans in your audience, so it IS worth celebrating!!)

P.S. If you'd rather have someone watching for those signs with you than work it out on your own, that's what we do together. Just reply and let's start that conversation.

Maybe twice. Maybe (no judgment, I promise) three times. And you’re still sitting with conversion numbers that don’t match how GOOD the business actually is. That thought makes complete...
